Glenys works as a facilitator of learning, an academic mentor, and assessor at Capable NZ. Glenys supports learners to articulate their skills, knowledge and attitudes gained from their work-based learning experiences, as well as undertaking new learning to gain a degree qualification through Capable NZ's independent learning pathways. She brings a diverse employment background to her career practice, with significant experience in teaching at secondary school, polytechnic and university level, as well as roles in senior management. Glenys also works in the field of elite sports, supporting athletes to think about "life during and after sport". She also teaches in the School of Social Services in the Career Practice stream. Her doctoral research is in adult learning and independent learning pathways and professional practice qualifications. However she continues to undertake research around transformational learning and facilitator effectiveness.
